For fans of High School Athletics, VHSCA All-Star week is the culmination of the year in sports, where the best seniors are honored for their participation in their sport, High school football players have to wait more than six months from the end of their senior season to the All-Star week where they get to play the game one more time at the high school level before they go off to college.

Coleman Grabs First Offer

Western Branch High School just had their big signing day event with nine players signing and more ready to commit. The confetti hadn’t been swept from the floors when Bruin Junior Thomas Coleman landed his first scholarship offer. Coleman had heavy interest from the Hokies when they saw him in January. Now another school is the first to jump on the bandwagon officially.

WR Wolters Commits!

Ocean Lakes wide receiver Anthony “Sese” Wolters has made his college commitment. Wolters was far from overlooked when it comes to the Dolphins’ ultra-productive offense headed by Corwin Cutler in the regular season, and Churchie Harold in the postseason. Along with Andre Dessenberg, Jaason Lewis, and Mike Alston, Anthony was a part of a team that scored an average of over 38 points per game with a pass heavy offense.

Bay Rivers POY Picks Up First Offer

Warhill athlete Devonte Dedmon has turned into quite a prospect. As a junior, he was selected as the All-District Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team wide receiver on the All-Region I team. He was also selected as a First Teamer on the All-757 Junior Team. Dedmon also stars in track and basketball. It looks like he could go to college for any of the three sports. If more football attention comes, he should be able to bank on it paying his way through college. Dedmon is getting plenty of college interest, and he picked up his first scholarship offer this week.
