There’s been a common thread to athlete commitments under Morgan State’s interim head coach Earnest T. Jones.
Class of 2019 athletes have been committing face-to-face.
Falls Church RB Dakwandre Marshall (2019 RB 5-8 165) visited Morgan State over the weekend, and on the visit, he nailed down his commitment to the Bears.
Coach Said Aziz of Falls Church High School relayed the news and had a lot of good things to say about his star running back.
“Morgan State is getting a special football player. Dakwandre has been starting on varsity since his sophomore year. He is a natural RB/Slot/KR/PR,” said the coach. “The things he can do with the ball in his hand, you can’t coach. He is a little guy at 5’8 165, but he is very strong, and runs a 4.4 forty. I honestly feel that if he was a 5’10 180 pound kid he would be playing Power 5 football.”

Coach Aziz continued: “He plays big for his size, we joke around a lot. He says he sees Shaq (Shaquille O’Neal) when he looks in the mirror!”
In his junior season, Dakwandre rushed for 1,988 yards and 17 TDs (with a 7.7 yards per carry average), caught 26 passes for 392 and three touchdowns, and ran back a number of kickoffs and punts for scores.
