Old Dominion continues to lay the groundwork on the defense with the commitment of Joshua Burdsall

The ODU coaching staff is doing their homework to find grinders for the defensive side of the ball.
Forest Park’s football program may be struggling, but there’s certainly talent on the Bruins squad. While other Woodbridge High Schools like Hylton, Freedom and Woodbridge are flourishing, Forest Park has been waning. Their wins have declined over the past five seasons from 9-4 in 2013, 7-4 in 2014, 6-5 in 2015, 4-6 in 2016 and 3-7 last year.
That doesn’t scare a savvy college football program away from finding solid prospects.
Josh Burdsall (2019 LB 6-1 205) fits that bill. Burdsall doubles as a running back for Forest Park, but it seems obvious that he’s destined for the defensive side of the ball at the college level.
“Thank you to all the people who believed in me and helped me get to where I am today. I am 100% committed to Old Dominion University,” Joshua said Friday via Twitter.
Burdsall is the third in-state commitment for Old Dominion’s 2019 recruiting class following Drelyn Ford of Franklin High School (Franklin) and Alston Robinson of Manchester High School (Midlothian).
