Javon Swinton has narrowed his list

A June filled with college visits and some decision making has led North Stafford wide receiver Javon Swinton (2020 WR 6-1 160) to narrow his offer list to two schools.
In late May, Temple offered. In mid-June, Rutgers offered. That brought him to a total 14 scholarship offers. Just a week after the Rutgers offer, Swinton narrowed his list to five. That list included Indiana, Wake Forest, Rutgers, South Carolina and Syracuse.
Now he’s narrowed that list to two, according to North Stafford assistant coach John Harris.
“Swinton is officially down to Wake Forest and Indiana,” Harris reported. “He’s going to get down to Wake Forest on July 25 and he’s in the process of setting up an official visit with Indiana.”
While Wake Forest routinely mines Virginia for football talent, Indiana is a bit more off the beaten path. The most recent high profile Indiana recruit from the Commonwealth of Virginia was Hopewell running back Ronnie Walker, who was the Hoosiers’ top signee from the recruiting class of 2018.
Swinton would be big asset for either Indiana or Wake Forest. He’s equally skilled as a wide receiver, cornerback or safety, and he also is a star basketball player for North Stafford.
In his junior season, Swinton was selected as a First Team All-Region wide receiver and First Team All-Region cornerback.
Today marks the end of the summer dead period for Virginia athletes, so it’s back to work for Swinton and his teammates as they prep for the upcoming season.
