Episcopal is in a class of their own. They’re a private school program in Alexandria that plays more of a national level schedule, and they attract athletes from all over North America. Our #16 athlete is proof. He hails from Vancouver, Canada and he’s making a name for himself right here in Virginia.
Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in Northern Virginia. Continuing our countdown at number 16 is Episcopal wide out Jamall Mensah.
#16 Jamall Mensah (2020 WR/DB 5-10 176) – Episcopal School
Jamaal Mensah has fans back home in the Great White North. Canada Football Chat touts him as a prospect who “attended Vancouver College (School) before transferring down south, and is the only Canadian prospect with offers from the military academies in America.”
As a track guy, his speed is his calling card. Mensah has posted times of 6.54 in the 55 meter dash and 38.80 in the 300. Both of those are indoor times. In the outdoor season, his bests are a 10.82 100m and a 23.12 200m dash time.
That kind of speed applies well to the football field. Mensah was the seventh-best scoring wide receiver at the Nike Opening Regional DC this past May. At that event, he posted a SPARQ score of 106.68, finishing behind only a few big names like KeAndre Lambert (Maury), Tyler Savage (John Champe) and shockingly good 2021 wide out Kalen Villanueva of Justice High School in Falls Church.
Mensah’s offer list includes schools like Air Force, Army, William and Mary, and Simon Fraser University of Canada.
