recruitNoVA Fab 30: Taylor Morin of Westfield HS is #18
by Andy Hilton, recruitNoVA
Our #18 athlete in the recruitNoVA Fab 30 countdown was a First Team All-District and All-Region selection at both wide receiver and DB in 2017. To top that, he was a First Team All-State wide receiver and Second Team All-State defensive back. He’s an ACC commit, and his team has done nothing but win state championships since his high school career started.
Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in all of Northern Virginia. That’s a tall task, considering that we track the talent at 86 high school programs in the region. Coming into our countdown as the #18 senior prospect region-wide is Westfield wide receiver Taylor Morin.
#18 Taylor Morin (2019 S 6-1 195) – Flint Hill School
Taylor Morin saw his recruitment take off after a stellar performance for Westfield in the Class 6 State Championship game. In his junior season, he caught 51 passes for 841 yards and eight touchdowns.
UMass and Army offered early. JMU, Albany, Lehigh and Penn offered soon after. A Wake Forest offer also came this spring and it resonated with Taylor. It didn’t take him long to pick the Demon Deacons.
“I felt like I was at home when I was on campus and after they offered, I knew that was the place for me,” said Morin back in June. “I was at camp last Wednesday and they offered on Thursday.”
By the time he committed, Morin’s offer list included Wake Forest, James Madison, Lehigh, Penn, Albany, Bucknell, Dartmouth, Campbell, Sacred Heart, Elon, Harvard, Monmouth, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Yale, New Hampshire, Richmond, Brown, Army, UMass, William and Mary, Fordham and Princeton.
