Our #17 athlete hit his stride early when it came to offers. His junior season was electric. The play maker from Woodbridge has earned the recognition he gets.
Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in all of Northern Virginia. That’s a tall task, considering that we track the talent at 86 high school programs in the region. Coming into our countdown as the #17 senior prospect region-wide is Freedom High School running back and safety Tyquan Brown.
#17 Tyquan Brown (2019 RB 5-10 185) – Freedom High School
Freedom had quite a run in Brown’s junior season. The Eagles’ offense cut both ways when it came to Brown’s production. Freedom was on the right side of quite a few blowout wins, so Tyquan was well rested. On the other hand, if his team needed him more often, his stats would have been more eye popping.
The Eagles raced through the regular season with a 10-0 record. Brown was approaching 1000 yards before the season ended. Freedom scored 48 or more points in every game but one on their way to an undefeated regular season. C.D. Hylton gave them a scare mid-season before Freedom pulled out a 48-42 win. In that game, the Bulldogs limited Brown to 62 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown.
That game was the exception for Brown.
Coming into his senior season, Tyquan holds offers from Maryland, Rutgers, Towson, Hampton, Marshall, Temple and Fordham.
