Ryan Coll commits in-state with the Spiders

Offensive linemen don’t get enough press.
They do the sometimes thankless job of protecting the quarterback, opening holes for the ball carrier, and overall mowing defensive players down.
Ryan Coll is versatile enough to play tight end and defensive end, and he’s earned All-District honors for both positions. As a tight end, his primary strength is to compliment the offensive line and provide an additional blocker for Battlefield’s running backs.
We got our first long look at Ryan Coll (2019 TE/OT/DE 6-5 290) at the 2017 Clash of the Titans Showcase at Highland Springs. That event brings together some of the best athletes from the 757, the 804 and Northern Virginia to compete and show which region is best. Also, it’s a great opportunity for athletes around the state to meet and compete, just because they seldom see the talent outside of their area.
At the 2017 Clash of the Titans, Ryan Coll was impressive. Since that time he’s grown in size and skill.
Coll picked up offers from Towson, Richmond, Villanova, Howard and Temple. The Richmond offer came in early June, and just last week, Coll decided to give his commitment to the Spiders.
“After a brand new locker room and weight room renovation reveal, I realized where my home was meant to be for the next four years. I am happy to announce that I am committed to the University of Richmond!” said Coll via Twitter.

Ryan is prepping for his senior season at Battlefield, and now with his college commitment nailed down, he can focus 100% on his senior year. The Bobcats open their season on August 24 with a home game against Oakton.
