Winning yields more success.
In 2017, Flint Hill won the VISAA Division I State Championship, and there are quite a few players coming back for another shot in 2018.
It’s a fertile recruiting ground for college coaches.
Safety Trey Rucker (2019 FS/WR 6-1 190) made the trip to UNC for a one-day camp on Friday, and his performance netted him a scholarship offer from the Tar Heels.
“I ran a pretty good 40. I performed well. Afterward, the head coach (Larry Fedora) called me into his office and he offered me. I was really excited to earn it,” said Rucker. “(Coach Fedora) told me that I balled at camp and he was impressed with my talent.”
Rucker shared that Carolina is recruiting him as a safety.
His offer list includes North Carolina, UVA, Wake Forest, Indiana, Purdue, Temple, Kent State, JMU, Charlotte, and Alabama A&M.
Trey is hopeful that NC State could be the next school to offer.
“I went to their camp June 16. The head coach (Dave Doeren) was impressed and is going to offer soon.”
“I have an official visit at UVA on June 21,” Rucker reported. “I might commit before the season, I’m not sure yet.”
UVA has a recruiting class of ten at this point, with three of their commitment from in-state athletes.
Flint Hill is indeed loaded for another run at the VISAA Division I State Championship in 2018. What’s Trey’s take?
“Make sure everyone tunes into to my senior season. Our team has a lot of talent.”
