Tony Muskett makes his commitment to Monmouth

West Springfield quarterback Tony Muskett didn’t take long to make his college decision.
He narrowed his list to a top three a little less than a week ago, and then added an offer from Campbell over the weekend. Monmouth, Coastal Carolina and Penn were on his short list.
This morning, Muskett announced his college commitment with a tweet.

“I’m just very thankful to everyone who has believed in me throughout this process and helped. Monmouth felt like home to me and I had a gut feeling that I was supposed to be there,” Muskett said. “Their starter will be a senior this season so it will be open after this season. I’m hoping to prove myself early.”
With his commitment in the bag, Muskett can now focus on his upcoming senior season. The Spartans had a shot in 2018 after jumping out to a 5-1 start, but they limped to the finish line, losing their final four games in a five win and five loss season.
“At West Springfield, the last time we won (a conference championship) was 2014 or 2015 so people always doubt us. I know how hard we’ve been working. That’s all I want this year. I want to win a championship with my brothers,” Tony stated when we talked to him at the Nike Opening Regional DC in early May 2019.
Tony’s last word on his recruitment?
“I’m excited for the future,” he said.
We don’t blame him there.
