LSU head coach Ed Orgeron must have been dancing on Bourbon Street Monday night.
Actually, Louisiana State is in Baton Rouge, but there’s no guy that epitomizes Louisiana like the Bayou Bengals’ head coach.
On Monday, highly sought after Woodbridge linebacker Antoine Sampah announced his college decision.

Sampah’s head coach, Gary Wortham, Sr., told recruitNoVA in February that Sampah had exceeded 60 college scholarship offers. He narrowed his list to a Top Eight of Miami, Penn State, Florida State, Alabama, UNC, Oregon, WVU and Florida. LSU was not in that list when Sampah released it on February 24.
LSU continued to work Sampah and they earned a visit on March 22 in a southern swing where Woodbridge players visited Alabama, Mississippi State, LSU and more.
The commitment is LSU’s 14th commitment for the recruiting class of 2020 and currently has the Tigers leading in the race to land the nation’s best recruiting class (according to pundits). LSU has had success in recruiting nationally, landing three players from California, Sampah, wide receiver Rakim Jarrett of St. John’s (DC), defensive end Damon Clowney of St. Francis (Baltimore) and their usual haul of prospects from the Gulf Coast.
