Ethan West secures offer from Arizona State

Preparations have been made for the anticipation of Hurricane Florence which included postponing many football contests throughout the Central Region. One thing it hasn’t stopped is collegiate coaches from continuing to express interest in top prospects within the Central Region. Over the last few days we’ve seen an influx in recruiting activity which has included Highland Springs prospects Malcolm Greene and David Laney. Picking up another offer this week was Cosby starting linebacker Ethan West (2020 LB 6-4 225). Recruiting has been quiet since the start of the season for West as his last offer came from Texas A&M on July 19. On Monday, Arizona State came calling looking to bring in more linebackers for their 2020 recruiting class.
“It’s just getting started,” West told recruit804. Their head coach (Herm Edwards) is a real great guy and played a long time.”
Herm Edwards was an ESPN analyst from 2009-2017 before tossing his name in the hat to become the head coach of Arizona State. Edwards played in the NFL from 1977-1986 and also coached in the NFL from 1990 to 2008 before being hired in December of 2017.

West has watched his stock rise since picking up his first collegiate offer from the University of Virginia in July of 2017. Since then he’s picked up offers from: Duke, LSU, Rutgers, Maryland Temple, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Syracuse, North Carolina, Florida and Texas A&M. He had a very productive summer getting invited to the Nike Opening, Rivals in Charlotte and getting the chance to visit multiple programs including Virginia Tech.
However, the Titans have started of the season slightly sluggish wielding a record of 1-2 through their first three contests of the season. Their improvement was noted two weeks ago when the Titans knocked of Matoaca 15-10, but they lost to Thomas Dale and Manchester by a combined score of 87-6.
“We started with the most difficult part of schedule I would say and we came out not too bad. We are ready to get the party started now,” West stated.
Cosby will matchup against Huguenot on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. along with most of the Central Region ahead of Hurricane Florence.
