Chase Soper’s junior season was pretty much one for the record books.
In Hayfield’s wide open offense, Soper (2020 QB 6-1 200) rolled up 2500 passing yards, rushed for 800 and accounted for 43 touchdowns with only 5 interceptions in a 12 game season in 2018. That was good enough for Soper to earn All-District and All-Region honors in his junior year.
He more than held his own at Redskins Park among a bevy of top shelf quarterbacks.
“I had a great time. I really love competing. I love going to these camps,” said Soper. “I’m making every throw count, not making any underthrows. (I want to show college coaches) I can play quarterback. I’m a leader. I’m a great fit for their program.”
In Chase’s interview with recruit757 video correspondent Antowyne Shaw, he expressed a desire to lead his team to an undefeated record in his senior season.
How does he get the team there?
“Every day, I’m throwing in the morning. I’m playing 7-on-7. I’m lifting in the afternoon. I’m playing baseball right now, so that’s making my arm stronger. The whole team is in the weight room now. It’s looking good,” he said.
Since the recruit757/Sparta Showcase, Soper has made unofficial visits to Georgetown, Pitt, James Madison and Temple. Chase landed his first college scholarship offer in late January when Clarion University offered him.
