Our #22 athlete practically defines the term “play maker”. From any spot on the field, in multiple roles, this guy is always a threat to score.
Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in all of Northern Virginia. That’s a tall task, considering that we track the talent at 86 high school programs in the region. Coming into our countdown as the 22nd best senior prospect region-wide is Falls Church’s primary offensive weapon, Dakwandre Marshall.
#22 Dakwandre Marshall (2019 RB 5-7 160) – Falls Church High School
Marshall’s 2017 season produced a number of eye-popping stats, as the 5-7, 160-pound back lit up prep school fields as a rusher, receiver and electrifying return man for the 6-5 Jaguars. The junior ran for 1,988 yards and 17 TDs (with a 7.7 yards per carry average), caught 26 passes for 392 and three touchdowns, and ran back a number of kickoffs and punts for scores. Many of his highlight reels look the same – see Dakwandre run through a seam in the line, followed by a sea of opposing defenders, visible only by the numbers on their backs, chasing the big green “10” in the white jersey, or white “10” in the green jersey, depending on whether the game was home or away.
He was selected as a First Team Running back for the All-National District teams and the All-Region 5C teams in his junior season.
Dakwandre has blistering speed and escapability. We hear that he’s closing in on a college decision. We’ll follow up with that soon.
