Big Man Xavier Chevrier sees his first offer roll in

We’ve seen Xavier Chevrier at spring and summer football camps since his freshman year.
He’s put in some hard work and he’s now starting to see it pay off.
On Wednesday, Xavier landed his first college scholarship offer thanks to Division II Virginia State University.
“Coach Harris, the running backs coach over there, followed me earlier today. Then he gave me a call and he told how they liked my film and I would be a nice fit for the program. We talked a little about the school and the team and about their business program,” Chevrier said. “At first we talked about playing defense then he asked where I’ve played on the offensive line and if I can snap. It’s up in the air I could end up on either side of the ball.”
At 6-3 and 311 as of the Clash of the Titans Showcase in early August, Chevrier brings college ready size to the table. That’s obviously something that Virginia State and several other college programs see in Xavier. There’s a sense of relief that comes with getting your first offer. Now Xavier is feeling some recruiting momentum.
“It was very exciting when to get the offer,” he said. “I’ve been talking to VMI, William and Mary, JMU a little and a couple other schools.”
Norfolk Christian is in a group of schools who have decided to wait until the spring to play football. That’s in line with Virginia’s public schools and most of the schools in VISAA.
Without a season to plan for over the summer, Xavier has been on his own for the most part when it comes to keeping himself football ready.”
“This off-season I’ve just tried to stay focused and keep going despite all the uncertainty. With everything going on, I have tried my hardest to not slack off.”
