One of the most sought-after wide receiver prospects in the country resides right here in the 804. St. Christopher’s Andre Greene Jr. (2022 WR 6-3 185) picked up his first collegiate offer from UVA back in February, and last week, Greene secured his 48th and 49th offers from Indiana and Missouri. Among his list of potential suitors are Virginia Tech, LSU, Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan, Florida, Florida State, Texas A&M, and Southern California to name a few.
On Saturday, Greene spoke to recruit804 at “The Clinic” about his recruitment and his latest offers. “I’ve been talking to them (Missouri) for a long time. I actually got the offer a week before, but I was really caught up in my schoolwork. Then September 1st hit, and I was really focused on what I had to do,” he explained.
Former UVA and Henrico Warrior standout Billy McMullen was one of the co-sponsors of the event along with local quarterback guru Malcolm Bell. According to Greene, McMullen has played a significant role in his development. “I’ve been coming to Coach Billy McMullen for a long time. He worked at St. Christopher’s my freshman year and he’s definitely developed me very well from a lower body standpoint.”
Greene is not in a hurry to name his top choices at this point. Rather, he is focused on building strong relationships with the coaching staffs at all the schools currently recruiting him. “I’m really fond of having a great relationship with the coach I commit to. I’m looking for the best of both worlds.” He continued, “I should narrow down my top-ten soon. I’m not sure when though.”
Andre was a dominant force last season for the Saints. He snagged 31 receptions for over 600 yards and scored eight touchdowns. St. Christopher’s finished the 2019 season with a 10-2 record and an appearance in the VISAA Division I championship game.
