Cox dominates Landstown and earns a first round home playoff game

For so many years, Cox has had a solid football program.
They’ve even won the Beach District in recent years. That achievement has been overshadowed by the dominance of schools like Ocean Lakes, Salem, and Oscar Smith.
This year, in a strange and shortened season, the Falcons have stayed steady and have gone undefeated.
They finished their season 5-0, and despite having only one home game during the regular season, they’ve managed to win every game handily.
“I’m real happy for these guys. We had a lot of guys playing in positions that they never played before. We didn’t know what we were going to get, but they definitely came out and put their best foot forward and did what they needed to do; to go undefeated and hopefully get a #1 seed for the (Region 5A) playoffs,” Cox head coach Bill Stachelski said after the game. “We were blessed to get out here (and play) this spring at all. To be able to play five games, we were going to be happy regardless of the outcome. We just took it one game at a time like we always do.”
If Cox can manage to earn the #1 seed, they’ll not only host the eventual #4 seed in the first round (potentially Maury), but they’d also get a home game in the regional final if they earn a win next week.
In the win, Cox led 29-0 at the break behind three Dominic Wilson touchdown runs and a pick-six by Decoreion Hunter. Dominic Wilson finished the night with 18 carries for 176 yards and four touchdown runs, plus he connected with Duncan Wilson for an 18-yard touchdown via the air.
