Elon attempting to grab the attention of Deep Run QB Bo Kite

It’s difficult to play quarterback at the high school level.
You have some that strictly play the quarterback position while others double-down at multiple positions because it makes you more flexible to the program that you represent.
Those that play another position outside of quarterback sometimes dive into the pool with defensive backs because that’s where their frame and skill set take them. However, then you have others that find themselves more in the thick of the action. These are the ones that find themselves pulling up a chair and gravitating around the table with linebackers.
This is Deep Run starting quarterback Bo Kite.
Kite’s (2021 QB/LB 6-3 220) willingness to extend his influence has not only benefited Deep Run, but it’s also enhanced how collegiate programs approach his recruitment.

On June 5, Kite’s offer list reached 20 programs when the University of Rhode Island expressed interest. Three weeks later, the Deep Run product was able to secure his 21st offer this one coming from Elon University.
Elon is a Division I FCS program that resides in the Colonial Athletic Association. This upcoming season the Phoenix will be looking to build off their first losing since 2016 (2-9). They finished last season with a record of 5-6 going 2-2 against ranked opponents losing to James Madison and North Carolina A&T while knocking off Towson and Delaware. The Phoenix also lost a five-overtime heartbreaker at home to William & Mary towards the end of the season.
However, Elon will have to play catchup based on how long it took the Phoenix to reach out.
Outside of the aforestated programs, Kite also holds collegiate offers from: Columbia, Chattanooga, UMass, Dartmouth, Furman, Fordham, Lehigh, William & Mary, VMI, Bryant, Richmond, James Madison, Army, Ball State, Temple, Liberty, Navy, North Carolina A&T, and Campbell.
Should the VHSL allow football to reconvene later this year, Kite will look to surpass last year’s numbers where he completed 61-of-124 passes for 1,006 yards and 10 touchdowns.
On the ground he rushed for 1,222 yards and 28 touchdowns. Only Alex Sikkar (Patrick Henry) rushed for more yards at the quarterback position in the Central Region while Kite’s 28 touchdowns on the ground were third to TreVeyon Henderson (Hopewell) and Robert Barlow (Dinwiddie).
