George Wilson took a deep offer list down to four on Monday

It’s been a whirlwind recruitment for George Wilson (2021 DE 6-6 210).
He’s a two-sport star who was initially getting attention for his prowess on the hardwood. His length and athleticism applied to the gridiron resulted in many a college coach salivating over the possibilities of lining him up against tight ends and offensive tackles at the next level.
The offer list swelled to nearly 20 offers, including some prominent Big Ten, SEC and ACC schools. Michigan State, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Oregon, Ole Miss, Syracuse and Maryland were among the big names that didn’t make the cut.

The four that did make the cut are Arizona State, UNC, Penn State and South Carolina.
In an interview earlier this year with recruit757, Wilson made it very clear that his relationships with the coaching staff at each school would be of the utmost importance when it came to closing in on a decision.
“My relationship with the coaches is very important to me. I can’t wait until (the Coronavirus shut down) is over so I can get on some visits and learn about these colleges,” said Wilson.
The shut down is not completely over, but things have opened up a bit. Current guidance from the NCAA allows players to visit college campuses on their own, but the schools aren’t able to actually host athletes on a traditional recruiting visit. Instead, schools have held numerous “virtual” visits where everything about the campus and football program is conveyed via video chat.
Wilson would still have five official visits he can take if he chooses. Arizona State is quite a trip compared to potential drives to UNC, Penn State and South Carolina.
