College Interest Begins For Sophomore Center

After attending skills camps such as Mike London’s Big Man Camp and ECU’s offensive and defensive lineman camps prior to his freshman season, colleges are starting to show interest for Southampton Academy center Caleb Bradshaw. Caleb is receiving camp invites to colleges ranging from D-III Maryland schools to D-II South Carolina schools. Once he makes an appearance it becomes obvious Bradshaw is dedicated to his craft and future. Coaches see he wants to succeed at the college level both on the field and in the classroom.

LC Bird’s Shawn Payne Verbally Commits to Virginia Tech

Some of the mystery of National Signing Day, February 2014 has been removed. LC Bird’s Shawn Payne (DB, 6-2, 175) has verbally committed to Virginia Tech. With his family around him, Shawn made the joyful call to Coach Frank Beamer to declare his intentions to play for Virginia Tech in the fall of 2014. “I am really excited about becoming a Hokie,” says Shawn. “I am also excited about being part of a great 2014 recruiting class.”

Dolphin Duo Lands Navy Offers

In the 2012 season, the Ocean Lakes defense was almost as stunning as their offense. The departure of defensive tackle Demetri McGill hasn’t taken much of the shine off of the Dolphin defensive line. Derrick Nnadi returns, along with defensive ends Masaddiq Walton and Tony Baird. Both Walton and Baird quietly held their own alongside the star power of McGill and Nnadi. Now the Dolphin duo have their college recruitment building and growing.

Morse Snags First College Offer

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy safety Jared Morse is a pretty exceptional athlete. The long and lanky defender has drawn college interest from a number of schools, including Hampton University, James Madison, VMI, and William and Mary. Morse has had a busy schedule, including camp at HU on Wednesday, the Peanut City Shootout on Saturday, and camp at Bucknell on Sunday. After all that hard work, he finally broke through with an offer on Sunday night.
