Oscar Smith DB Maurice Freeman didn’t waste time making his choice

Just a couple of days ago, Maurice Freeman announced that he had narrowed his offer list to four schools. Appalachian State, Indiana, Ole Miss and Illinois.
Big Ten schools had a 50/50 shot at landing him with Illinois and Indiana represented. Missing from his list was any in-state school.
On Saturday evening, Freeman picked the Hoosiers.

When he narrowed his list to four, Freeman stated that his choices came down to schools “where I felt comfortable, and how much love and energy I get from the coaches, and the fans from each school,” according to Freeman.
Virginia schools may have struck out here, but Oscar Smith has plenty of talent for the home teams to mine.
Once the Tigers hit the field, even if we have to wait until spring, there will certainly be lots of talent for head coach Chris Scott to work with. Will committed and signed seniors take the field? That’s yet to be seen, but Maurice Freeman’s future is certainly taken care of.
