On Thursday, Ocean Lakes DE/OLB Naquan Brown (2021 DE/OLB 6-3 215) decommitted from LSU.
On Friday afternoon, he announced that he will join teammate Myles Alston as a member of Pittsburgh’s 2021 recruiting class.
“They were there throughout my sophomore year and they were my second offer. They’ve wanted me ever since they offered me,” said Brown. “The D-line coach knows how I can fit in their defense, and I’m used to their schemes and what they run.”
Charlie Partridge is the defensive line coach and he an assistant head coach for Pat Narduzzi, the head coach of the Panthers. Chris Beatty is the recruiting coach for the 757 and he has landed not only Brown and Alston, but also running back Rodney Hammond of Booker T. Washington (Norfolk) and linebacker/running back Malik Newton of Lake Taylor (Norfolk).
Pitt may be 5-5 on the season, but they have a big win over Virginia Tech to their credit (41-17), and the Hokies were one of the final suitors for Brown when he made his college choice back in July.
When asked, Brown stated that he wasn’t sure whether he would play defensive end or outside linebacker for Pitt, but he confirmed that he is comfortable at either position.
For fans looking to see Naquan suit up for Ocean Lakes one more time, he also confirmed that he would be playing his senior season for the Dolphins this spring.
