It looks like Great Bridge tight end Nathan Boerboom (2021 TE 6-4 230) is going “back home”.
This fall, he’ll play his senior season at Great Bridge, giving him three seasons with the Wildcats. His freshman season was spent at University High School in Orange City, Florida.
Prior to the Boerboom family homecoming to Great Bridge, dad was coaching offensive line at Stetson University in Deland, Florida, less than an hour from Orlando. Brian Boerboom played his high school ball at Great Bridge.

The last 757 product to take the plunge at UCF was Norview quarterback D.J. Mack. D.J. got some valuable playing time as QB1 in his redshirt freshman year. He played in ten games and started three to close out the season. Mack led the Golden Knights to an AAC Championship win over Memphis and led the team in a narrow loss to LSU in the Fiesta Bowl. An injury slowed him in 2019.
As for Boerboom, he’s excited about the possibilities at UCF.
“I think I really went with my gut (with this decision). I feel like it’s where I can develop and take this to the next level,” Boerboom said. “I will be used (at tight end), there’s no doubt. It’s great ball with everyone really working to be great. I can’t wait just put my head down and work.
Nate held offers from Virginia Tech, ODU, ECU, Buffalo, William and Mary, Liberty, Kansas State, Marshall, UConn, JMU, Coastal Carolina, Toledo, Pitt, Charlotte, Temple, Appalachian State and Norfolk State.
Boerboom told the UCF Rivals page “There’s not a lot of places that you connect really well with the head guy, but I really did with (Heupel). I think that’s important.”
