James Wade gets the ball rolling

Considering the general lack of football opportunities, we’ve seen James Wade (2021 C/LS 6-2 265) quite a bit this summer.
In June, we hosted James at a recruit757 Spotlight Exposure Camp. Just a few weeks ago, he camped for us at the Clash of the Titans Showcase.
On Monday, James landed a football offer from Shenandoah University and assistant coach Byron Mitchell.
“I went on a tour with Byron Mitchell this morning (Monday) and it was really good. I liked how they make sure that their athletes are taken care of academically, and I have had a all around good experience in the recruiting process,” Wade stated. “(Coach Mitchell said) that they liked the fact that I can play all over the O-line including center and long snapping as well.”
James had a solid Exposure Camp session with us, and he did well at the Clash of the Titans, where Coach Mitchell was in attendance to assess all of the athletes there.
“I am visiting Bridgewater and I am also talking to Frostburg State, Averett, Christopher Newport, and the University of West Georgia. James Madison has told me that I am a candidate for the long snapping position specifically. I want to talk with ODU as well because of the great cyber security classes they have, and their football program looks good as well,” James explained.
The first offer, or in this case football opportunity, can be the toughest to get. Shenandoah is Division III so there’s no athletic scholarship involved, but James’ grades are good enough to qualify him for academic scholarships. From there, Shenandoah can offer an opportunity to continue playing the game he loves. It doesn’t get much better than that.
