Jordan Williams is down to five schools

Cox defensive end Jordan Williams has narrowed his options down to five schools. Now he’s announced a decision date.
On Saturday, August 6, at Frank W. Cox High School, Jordan Williams will announce his college intentions. On June 1, he named a top five of Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech. We’re less than six weeks away from learning Williams’ intentions.
Earlier this month, Jordan Williams camped with Virginia Tech at the Hokies’ Virginia Beach Satellite Camp. He visited Tennessee and UVA for unofficial visits in March, and of course coaches from all five schools visited Williams at Cox High School in the Spring Evaluation period.
When Williams (SR DE 6-5 260) announced his top five earlier in the month, he listed them in alphabetical order and expressed no preference for one school over the other at that point.
So far, Virginia Tech has already received a verbal commitment from the 757 in Lafayette wide receiver Hezekiah Grimsley. Tennessee has also received a verbal commit, Ocean Lakes defensive tackle Eric Crosby. The University of Virginia, Clemson and Ohio State have not received local commitments for the Class of 2017 yet, but all three are hot on the heels of several top prospects in addition to Jordan Williams.
Social Media has been abuzz since Jordan narrowed his list, and there are a lot of fans on Twitter that have spent time crafting custom graphics that paint Williams in the home team’s colors. Columbus, Knoxville, Charlottesville, Blacksburg or Clemson… he’ll have a college home soon enough.
